退輔會近期因為榮民榮眷基金會董事長改選，引發爭議，退輔會主委李翔宙今(12)日下午舉行記者會，宣布請辭，並發表聲明。
以下為聲明全文：
我沈重地向社會表達我個人嚴正的抗議與聲明，我個人受國家栽培，在軍隊成長，所期望的是，把我所學、所長回報國家，服務廣大的過去替國家犧牲奉獻的榮民袍澤們。
我效力國家整整五十年，我從來沒有絲毫求官慾念或言行，求官的不白之冤，不僅污衊了我個人，傷害我的家族，更污辱了我的先祖。我個人的父親，出身黃埔軍校18期，從高中時代，跟隨政府，抗日、國共內戰、出身入死、報效國家。他所期望的是，他的子祀，可追隨他的初衷效力國家，我更從不敢忘記我的家訓，所以始終如一地盡忠職守、獻身國家。
面對今天如此不堪的污衊，我必須向社會明確表達，過去我沒有求官，未來我更不會求官，所以自此刻起，我辭去國軍退除役官兵輔導委員會主任（委員）職務，也衷心地期盼，因為我的辭去，能夠把因我而起的榮民榮眷基金會董事長的風波能夠打住，我們朝野能夠和諧的，共同為國家未來進步發展，為這塊屬於2300萬同胞的土地，能夠求得國家進步、發展跟未來的成果，謝謝大家。
